Our town's water averages 15–30 Grains of hardness.
We call it 'Liquid Rock' because that's exactly what it leaves inside your water heater, pipes, and fixtures.

Just 1/8th of an inch of scale buildup in your water heater can increase your energy costs by up to 25% because the unit has to heat the "rock" before it can heat the water.

Dishwashers, ice makers, and washing machines in our area often fail 3–5 years earlier than they should due to internal scale.

Scale buildup restricts flow and can cause valves to seize and faucets to leak

Modern Solutions for "Hard Water"

Girl Drinking Water

We don't believe in "one size fits all." Every home should be tested for best results.  Depending on your home and your water goals, here are the most effective ways to fight back:

A high-efficiency salt-based softener is the only way to physically remove the calcium and magnesium from your water.

An RO system installed under your kitchen sink removes the hardness and total dissolved solids (TDS) specifically for your drinking and cooking water, providing bottled-quality water straight from the tap.

Stop settling for "liquid rock" and start experiencing the luxury of high-quality water in every room of your home. A professional water softening system doesn't just protect your expensive appliances and plumbing from destructive scale buildup; it transforms your daily routine with cleaner dishes, brighter laundry, and softer skin. Pair it with a Reverse Osmosis (RO) system at your kitchen sink to enjoy crisp, bottled-water quality right from the tap—removing the impurities and metallic tastes common in our local supply. Contact us today for a water quality consultation and take the first step toward a healthier, more efficient home with water that tastes as good as it feels.

Solve Your Hard Water Problems...

Is Your Current Softener Working too Hard -   or not hard enough?

Choosing the right size for your water softener is about more than just fitting it into your utility room; it’s about balancing efficiency with the long-term health of your plumbing. In Battle Mountain, an undersized unit will struggle against our heavy mineral content, leading to "hard water breakthrough" and forcing the system to regenerate too frequently—wasting hundreds of gallons of water and bags of salt every month. Conversely, a system that is properly sized for your specific household usage ensures you always have a steady supply of soft water, even on high-demand days, while extending the life of the resin beads inside the tank. Getting the math right today prevents premature equipment failure and ensures your water heater and appliances remain protected from the "liquid rock" buildup that plagues our region.

Pro Tip:

To keep your water softener healthy and your salt costs low, your system should ideally regenerate once every 6 to 9 days.

If it regenerates every night: Your unit is likely undersized or the settings are too aggressive. This wastes a massive amount of water and salt, and it will wear out the internal valve and resin bed years sooner than expected.

If it goes more than 14 days: Your unit may be oversized, or you aren't using enough water to trigger it. This can lead to "channeling" in the resin tank or bacterial growth.

The Battle Mountain Reality: Because our water is so hard, if you haven't seen your salt level drop in over two weeks, your system likely isn't protecting your pipes.

How to check: Most modern metered heads allow you to press a button to see "Gallons Remaining" until the next recharge. If that number hits zero every single day, it’s time for an upgrade!
